As the CEO of Mayflower College, I have been helping people learn English for 30+ years. We know the time and money people spend to learn English. English is the global language of aviation, business, science and the internet. This is great news for people like me who speak English as their first language; but it's an enormous challenge for everyone else. Many British, Americans and Australians do not understand how fortunate they are. Research shows that native speakers think that non-native speakers are 'less intelligent, less trustworthy and less successful' because they don't speak 'perfect' English. We believe this is crazy! The video below has launched a social media campaign called #MyVoiceMatters If you feel this campaign is worthy of your support you can take part by using #MyVoiceMatters on Facebook and Twitter. Post a message (or even a video) explaining who you are, where you live and tell the world ‘my voice matters’. Let’s make a difference and help everyone understand we all have a voice, even if English is not our first language. Paul STEVENS
